Privacy Policy

We collect personal information in the following ways:

• Information you provide. When you place an order, create an account, sign up for our newsletter, contact us, or apply to our Trade Programme, we collect details such as your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, and the contents of any messages you send us.
• Order and payment information. When you buy from us, our payment processor (Shopify Payments) collects your payment-card details and processes the transaction. Fornya does not store full payment-card numbers.
• Automatic information. When you visit the Site we automatically collect device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, referring page, pages viewed, time on page, and approximate location, through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.

We use the information we collect to:

• Process and fulfil orders, including shipping, returns, and customer service;
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our products;
• Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, return notifications);
• Send marketing emails about new products, journal articles, and promotions, where you have opted in;
• Personalise the Site and measure the performance of our marketing;
• Detect and prevent fraud and abuse;
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyse traffic, and measure advertising. Specifically:

• Strictly necessary cookies from Shopify power the cart, checkout, and account features.
• Analytics cookies from Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
• Email-marketing cookies from our email platform link site activity to your subscriber profile so we can send relevant messages and abandoned-cart reminders.
• Advertising cookies and pixels from providers such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok measure ad performance and let us show you Fornya ads on those platforms.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of many advertising cookies through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out. Most browsers also offer a "Global Privacy Control" signal, which we honour where required.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information in these limited situations:

• Service providers who run the Site and our operations on our behalf — including Shopify (e-commerce platform and payments), our shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, and partner fulfilment), Google (Tag Manager and Analytics), our email-marketing platform, and our advertising partners (Meta, TikTok). These providers may access only the information they need and are contractually obliged to protect it.
• Advertising partners. When we share information with advertising partners or allow their pixels to collect data on our Site to measure or target ads, this may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under certain U.S. state laws. See Section 7 below for how to opt out.
• Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, in response to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, our customers, or the public.
• Business transfers. If Fornya is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any email or by emailing hello@fornya.co. We will still send transactional messages related to your orders and account.

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or limit the use of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@fornya.co. We will respond within the time required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the rights described above and the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not knowingly process sensitive personal information for purposes that would require a limitation right beyond what we already provide.

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Site is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may be different from those of your home country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We will notify you of material changes where required by law.
